Harvey Pierce Hardman

July 4, 1920 — February 10, 2007

Harvery Pierce Hardman, 86, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 10, 2007 at the Logan Regional Hospital. He was the oldest son of Pierce and Ellen Baugh Hardman and was born on July 4, 1920 in Malad, Idaho. Harvey was raised in his early years in a sod house on the family?s dry farm in Arbon Valley, Idaho. Harvey and his family grew and endured many successful years farming their land. When they weren?t busy with the farm they enjoyed playing baseball and having their own rodeos with the livestock. Among other favorites were hunting, fishing, and learning the value of family. In 1936 they moved to North Logan, UT. Here Harvey and his brothers, with their dad as the coach, played baseball in the valley league where every town had a team. He loved baseball and boxing and was very good at both. In 1942 he enlisted in the Army to fight for his country in WWII. After many different assignments he was posted in Kettering AFB in England. Here with a weekend pass in hand and at a USO dance he met the love of his life, Alice Liddell, a Scottish lass from Edinburgh, Scotland. Harvey and Alice were married in 1944 and began their loving journey of 62 years. Harvey was employed at Thiokol as a crane operator for 28 years, after which he retired to spend time with his beautiful wife. The fruit of their union brought them four children Margaret, Marjean, LaVon, and Lynn. His family was his life. Harvey is survived by his wife Alice and two children; Marjean Griffin, Ogden, UT; and Lynn Hardman, Logan, UT. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 5 Great-grandchildren, 3 Great-great Grandchildren, one sister Faye Stevenson and a brother Ceril Hardman. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Margaret Crossen, and LaVon Hardman and siblings: Mick, Grant, and Ada.
