Tremonton, UT ? Harold John Hall, 86, passed away Friday, November 30, 2007 at his home in the arms of his loving wife and son. He was born April 21, 1921 in Garland, UT to Levi Franklin and Vurlia Grace Godfrey Hall. Harold attended elementary school in Garland and graduated from Bear River High School. He also attended Utah State College in Logan, UT.
Harold married Blanch Williams in 1941. She passed away in 1942. He joined the US Army in June, 1942 and served in the South Pacific during World Ward II and was honorably discharged in December, 1945. He married Thelma Maxine Harrill April 10, 1944. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple October 14, 1944.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various callings in the church including a scout leader, faithful home teacher, Sunday School teacher, and High Priest Quorum secretary. He also served with his wife in the local care center branch of the LDS Church for 14 years. He was employed at Jack?s Garage and Bear River Auto in Garland. He worked and retired from Thiokol Chemical Corp. He also worked for La-z-Boy in Tremonton. Harold enjoyed family reunions, hunting, fishing and traveling with family members. He was a friend to all.
He is survived by his loving wife, Thelma; son, Richard Jane Riverdale, Utah; brothers: Frank Norma Hall, Huntington, Utah and Denton Alda Lee, Plain City, UT; four sisters: Louenna Keith-deceased Garn, Garland, Lorna Dean Evans, Malad, ID, Adele Raymond Anderson, Layton, Clair Lynn Atkinson, Preston, ID; four grandchildren: Dixie Devron Brown, Travis Nancy Hall, Stephanie Hall and Christopher Celia Hall; and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Verl and Ariel, a son, Robert and a great granddaughter, Kathryn.
The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to Hospice for the kind and tender care they provided to Harold.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 5, 2007 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton Stake Center, 660 North 300 East, with Bishop Michael Bowcutt officiating. Family and friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Wednesday from 9:30-10:40 a.m. at the church. Interment at Garland City Cemetery with military honors by the Combined Veterans of Box Elder County.
