H. Edward Miller

May 13, 1939 — January 8, 2007

H. Edward Miller, was born May 13, 1939 to Harold Edward Miller and Elda Hale Miller in Afton, Wyoming. He died January 8, 2007 at Logan Regional Hospital of respiratory failure after a long and valiant battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis. Ed married Bonnie Ann Ames Sept. 11, 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and together they had 11 children. Ed spent his formative years in Ogden, with summers working on the family farm in Afton, Wyoming. When he was a teenager, Ed moved to Richmond, Utah, where he graduated from North Cache High School. He was an outstanding athlete, lettering in wrestling and football. He loved sports and had a life long passion for all things athletic. He was a piano technician by trade and an expert in restoring antique furniture. His work took him to many towns around the Intermountain West where many a school choir and music teacher benefited from his knowledge and professionalism in making sure the piano was in perfect harmony with their music. He began by working with his father, Harold, before expanding into his own business, Miller Piano Clinic, which served his many clients around the western Unites States for many years. Dancing with his sweetheart, harmonizing with his children, choir, and wife, and wrestling with the boys always brought a smile. Teasing the young ones with his vanishing toothpick, and animated eyebrows and lips were some of his trademarks. Ed enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, fishing and scouting were his joy. Under his expert tutelage, Boy Scouts, children and grandchildren learned how to catch fish. We will never forget the many trips to the Uintah Mountains and Dad?s ?secret? camping spots. Thanks, Dad. Ed?s greatest loves in life were family, hunting, fishing, scouting and sports. He loved his family very much and taught them well, served them well, and most importantly showed them by example to never complain and always do your best. Ed is survived by his wife Bonnie Ann; his children: August Becky Miller of Bountiful, Utah; Rebecca Kerry Lehman of Port St. Lucie, Florida; Eric Salli Miller of Blackfoot, Idaho; Lotti Keith Merrill of Logan, Utah; Sandy Jeff Jones of Washington City, Utah; Angela Boyd Hunter of South Ogden, Utah; Corey Rossana Miller of Logan, Utah; Daniel Heather Miller of North Ogden, Utah; Rachel Jeromy Jamison of Logan, Utah; and Jeni Clint Graves of Victor, Idaho; his mother, Elda Hale Miller of Logan; sisters: Donna Bill Akers, Shirley Duane Harris, Janice Calvin Swendsen, brothers: Jerry Gayle Miller, Lynn Arlene Miller, Chuck Robin Miller; twelve grandsons; twenty-three granddaughters; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his father Harold, his brother Eldon, and a son, Patrick Paul. Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday January 11, 2007 at the LDS Richmond Stake Center, 135 West Main, Richmond, Utah.
