Grant F. Teuscher, 86, passed away Monday, January 16, 2006 in Logan, Utah. He was born July 2, 1919 in Geneva, Idaho to Rosetta Messerli and Robert H. Teuscher. Most of his youth was spent in Geneva, Idaho. He lived also in Wabuska, Nevada and Smithfield, Utah. He came to Logan in 1942 to work on the construction of the airport. At this time, he met and married Gladys Pitcher on May 5, 1942 in Preston, Idaho. They were later sealed in the Logan Temple. They had three children as part of their marriage: Stephen Carol, deceased, Smithfield, Utah; Scott LaDawn, Roy, Utah; and Loye Parker, Logan, Utah. After being married, they went to Delta, Utah, where he worked at the Topaz Internment Camp. Later, they moved to Ogden, where he worked at the 2nd Street Depot as a guard during WWII. They moved back to Smithfield where he became employed by Utah Power and Light. While working for UP & L, he lived in Preston, Idaho and Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, before moving back to Smithfield, Utah. He retired from UP & L after 36 years of service. This was an accomplishment of which he was very proud. He was a high priest and active member of the Smithfield 1st Ward and served in many capacities. He was a member of the Smithfield Lions Club, where he served as president and was ?Lion of the Year?. He belonged to the Good Sam?s Club and one of his most enjoyable accomplishments was serving on the Blue Sox Baseball Team Board of Directors, where he also served as president. After retirement, he and his wife spent many winters in Arizona and enjoyed traveling. Among his hobbies was fishing and golfing. He really enjoyed participating in his hobbies with friends and family. He was very proud of all his grandchildren?s accomplishments. He was preceded in by his mother, father, one sister, three brothers and one grandson. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; 2 brothers, 1 sister, 2 sons, 1 daughter, 11 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 20, 2006 at the Smithfield 1st Ward Chapel, 175 South 100 West. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and Friday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to services.
