Gordon O Toone

April 24, 1935 — February 18, 2009

Gordon O. Toone passed away on February 18, 2009 from complications from an ongoing disease. He was born April 24, 1935 in Gooding Idaho to Theodore and Afton Toone. He grew up in St. Anthony, Idaho and loved working for the forest service in Island Park. He married Dallas Schmitt in the Salt Lake Temple on May 31, 1957. He graduated from BYU with a business degree. His first job after graduating was with Skaggs Drug Stores and he worked there for 38 years, moving to Nevada, Kansas and various places in Utah. Gordon had a good life with many years of happy memories. He was a great provider with a "family comes first" attitude. Gordon also had a very dry sense of humor and enjoyed catching people off guard. Gordon was dedicated to his religion and spent many years in service to the church. He enjoyed the outdoors, dogs, golf and then family. He loved his cabin in Star Valley Wyoming and spent countless hours photographing the Teton mountain range. Gordon is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dallas of Logan; 5 children: Steven Leeann of Peoria, Arizona; Kathy Kim Downs of Nibley; Phillip Margie of West Weber; Jared Leslie of Santaquin; and Matthew Laura of Salt Lake City, 14 grandchildren; 2 great grand children; and brother Eugene Patricia of Tucson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Garth. Gordon will be missed by many and will live long in the memories of family and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 23, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the Lundstrom Park 1st LDS Ward Chapel, 1260 North 1600 East. A viewing will be held from 12:30-1:30 p.m. at the Church.
