TREMONTON?Gordon Jay ?Pops? Thompson, 70, passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at his daughter Jodi?s home in Tremonton. He was born March 27, 1934 to LaMar Jay and Mary Adele Sparks Thompson in the family home in Clarkston, Utah. He married Linda Goodsell October 6, 1962. They were married 28 years until they divorced, but remained good friends. He married Peggy Lynn Woodyatt Frandsen January 26, 1991, they later divorced. Gordon was sealed to his parents in the Logan LDS Temple October 26, 2002. He was a High Priest and faithful member of the Tremonton 6th Ward where he served as a Building Cleaning Coordinator and Home Teacher for many years. He was raised in Clarkston and Logan. He served in the US Army from 1956-1962 with two of those years being active duty service in Augsburg, Germany where he was a baker for the Army hospital. He used his culinary skills throughout his life to make delicious breads, pies, salsa, fajitas and countless other tasty dishes. For the majority of his employment, 30 years, he worked at Thiokol Strategic. He also worked for Dover Elevator and for his Uncle Jerry Thompson at the Tally Ho Café. Gordon loved to be surrounded by his family and spending time with his ?babies.? He loved all children especially his grandkids. He was usually the first person to arrive at a reunion and the last person to leave. He had a great passion for the outdoors. Hunting and fishing with his family and friends were among his favorite hobbies. He was an expert fly fisherman?he enjoyed tying his own flies and fishing from his pontoon boat for several years. He was survived by three daughters and one son; Cindy Tracy Turner, Provo; Tami Rick Burwell, Elwood; Mark Heather Thompson, Providence; Jodi Kelly Barnhart, Tremonton; 11 grandchildren and his faithful dog, Pugsey. He is also survived by three sisters, a brother and a brother-in-law; Lois Clark, River Heights; Larry Darlene Thompson, Farmington; Fay Dennis Hughes, Kearns; and Becky Bo Padgett, West Jordan; Jerry Albretsen, Ogden. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sarah Louise ?Sally? Albretsen and his brother-in-law, Jack H. Clark. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the Tremonton Utah LDS Stake Center, 660 N. 300 E., Tremonton. Friends and family may call at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N. 100 E., Tremonton, Thursday, December 16, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30-10:30 at the Tremonton Utah LDS Stake Center.
