Goldie Ball Moore

July 17, 1924 — August 21, 2011

Goldie Ball Moore passed away Sunday, August 21st at her home in Smithfield, Utah at the age of 87, leaving her husband, William Vaughn of 71 years. Goldie was and is a noble woman, who by her fruits daily exemplified compassion and love her Savior, Jesus Christ. Goldie was born in the Brushy Mountains of Wilkes County, North Carolina on July 17, 1924 to John Avery Ball and Laura Jane Marlow. She was one of the youngest of twelve children, three of which still remain, Lilly Beatrice 100 , Getsy 94 and Lewis Ball 7?. Goldie had 34 grandchildren, 95 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren at the time of her passing. Some of that posterity includes Lucille Bill Windsor, Wayne Cheryl Moore, Roger Shelly Moore, and Keith Linda Moore and their families.
Goldie was always concerned of others ahead of self. She devoted her life in absolute and complete service to others in her church, community and most of all, her family. For years, she was the full-time care giver for her husband Vaughn. Goldie never did public work but her life was completely filled with work as she humbly went about the things she did. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crafting a beautiful Christmas Village out of plastic canvas, and sharing with others her love for life and the Savior. She spent her life in church service to young boys and girls, women and young women of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While she held many positions of leadership, the most important calling she ever held was that of mother and teacher. Her teachings were by example and love. It is difficult to measure the impact of one soul in the lives of others with whom she associated. When Goldie left North Carolina to go to Utah, she was hugged by doctors, nurses, care givers, pharmacy personnel, grocery clerks, bank personnel and just about every person she knew who got to say goodbye. Goldie would want to be remembered as one who gave unconditional love to everyone she met. She was a true peacemaker. She has left a legacy of faith and posterity with truly high marks. God bless you, Goldie.
?Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.?
