Tremonton - Golda Juanita Myers Jensen, 99, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2005 at the Bear River Valley Care Center in Tremonton, Utah. She was born on June 21, 1905 in Ovid, Idaho to John Myers, Jr. and Mary Amanda Olsen Myers. She married Charles Henry Jensen on December 24, 1927. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Charles passed away on September 23, 1977.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Relief Society and other auxiliary organizations.
Her hobbies were crafts, quilt making and she also made 5, 000 sets of dishtowels for Mormon Handicraft.
Family was very important to Golda. Grandchildren lovingly remember summers that were spent with their grandparents in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Her great grandchildren were her delight. She was like a mother to many nieces and nephews, many of whom enjoyed visiting with her when the family lived on a ranch in Arcadia, Utah.
She is survived by a son, C. Kent Ruth Jensen, eight grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, one great, great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Jensen, one infant son, John Jensen and four sisters, Roean Anthon Bastain, Ila Bill Tanner, Bernice Bill Calvin and Dewean Bill Robis and a brother, Earl Carlos Myers.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2005 at 12:00 noon at Wasatch Lawn Funeral Home located at 3401 South Highland Drive, Murray, Utah. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2005 and also from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday prior to the funeral.
Interment will be at the Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.
