Glenn Eldon Anderson

February 21, 1923 — May 29, 2003

Glenn E. Anderson Glenn E. Anderson, 80, of Garland, formerly of Pleasant View, died May 29, 2003. He was born February 21, 1923, in Elwood, Utah, to Verl and Nellie Anderson. The family later moved to Garland where he worked on the farm during the depression. He graduated from Bear River High School in 1940 and served in the U.S. Navy Air Corp. During World War II, he earned his wings in Pensacola, FL and was a flight instructor.
He married Elaine Beckstead of Preston, ID, on September 20, 1946, in the Salt Lake Temple. He graduated from Utah State Agricultural College in 1947. He taught Industrial Arts for two years in McCammon, ID and 30 years at Mound Fort Jr. High in Ogden. He also worked at Parker Hannifin as a machinist. He worked many part-time jobs, mostly as a carpenter. He was able to build houses for his sister, a brother and two of his daughters. His greatest joy was working on his cabin at Lava Hot Springs. He was a member of the LDS church and served numerous church callings. He was an ordinance worker in the Ogden Temple. He also served on the Board of Adjustments in Pleasant View. His other interests included traveling, camping, hiking, and spending time with his family and friends at Lava. He was known for his love of his family, hardwork and nature. He had a sense of humor and was a man of integrity. He is survived by his wife, five daughters and one son; Laura Lee Gerald Woolsey, Garland; Valorie Roland Stander, Bear River City; Eldon Kerrie Anderson, Washington Terrace; Sydnie Brent Larsen, Centerville; Wendy Anderson; Christy Robert Blair, Las Cruces, NM; 25 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren;step great grandchildren and step great great grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers and three sisters; Grant Glenna Anderson, Twin Falls, ID; Don Shirleen Anderson, Garland; Wilma Daniel Griffiths, Washington Terrace/Clarkston; Elaine Lee Ravsten, Bountiful/Clarkston; Carol Jack Spackman, Park Valley. He is also survived by one sister-in-law, Barbara Fred Beebe, Anaheim, CA. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Richard and grandson, Baby Lowe. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2, 2003, 11:00 a.m. at the Garland LDS 3rd Ward Chapel, 175 South Main. Friends may call Sunday, June 1st from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Monday, June 2nd from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at the Church.
