TREMONTON ? Glenda Wood Compton, 80, returned to her Heavenly Father on Saturday, March 31, 2007. Glenda was born January 27, 1927 in Brigham City, the 5th child of William Amos Wood and Ethel Davis. She spent her carefree youth in Corinne, where she graduated from Box Elder High School. As a young woman, Glenda worked at the Defense Depot in Ogden. When Glenda was 19 years old, she met her future Husband, Dale, at a grange hall dance in Corinne. They were married in the Logan LDS Temple on March 5, 1947. In the early days of their marriage, Glenda and Dale worked side by side, dry farming and feeding cattle on their own family land in Thatcher; and on their Blue Creek Farm. Glenda had a true pioneering spirit, she embraced hard work. It was in Thatcher where Glenda raised her three daughters, Camille, Tamra and Lora. She strived to instill a strong work ethic into her children; she worked not only on the family farms, but also cared for Thatcher Elementary School and worked in the cafeteria at Morton Thiokol. Through these jobs, Glenda met many good friends who have remained close throughout the years. Glenda was an avid gardener and homemaker. She loved spending time working in the yard with Dale. She took pride in her work and enjoyed each and every bloom. Dale and Glenda?s efforts were appreciated by the entire Thatcher community; they won several awards for ?Most Beautiful Yard? in Tremonton. She was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She happily served the Church in numerous positions including Primary Presidency, Relief Society Counselor, Sunday School Teacher, and Visiting Teacher. She also served as a Temple Worker in the Logan Temple. She was honored to have been called to this position and it brought her great purpose and joy. Glenda was happiest in the company of her family; she treasured each moment spent with her loved ones.
