Gibbs Allen

Portage- Gibbs Allen, 90, of Portage, died Thursday, May 29, 2003 at the Bear River Valley Care Center in Tremonton. He was born on January 19, 1913 in Portage, the son of Isaac and Fransis Gibbs Allen. He married Lois Bennett on December 17, 1935 in Ogden, Utah. Lois died on December 18, 1992. Gibbs spent his life farming and ranching his cattle. He loved the land and farming and ranching especially. He is survived by a daughter ? Rochelle Danielson of Enterprise, OR; one son ? Larry Elna Allen of Portage, UT; one sister ? Vera Dredge of Soda Springs, ID; five grandchildren - Lori, Troy, George, Jeff, and Lisa; and 4 great grandchildren ? Dallas, Elle, Francis, and Jordan. He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers ? Joe, Doug, and Ervin, and three sisters - LaVell, Cleopha, and Letitia. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2003 at the Portage Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday June 2, from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday, June 3 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Interment will be in the Portage Cemetery.
