He lived his entire life in Smithfield within one hundred yards of his birthplace. George married Jennie AliceTyra Fitzgerald April 16, 1930 in Logan LDS Temple. Together they raised their family of four sons: Richard Clair Deceased, Stanley, Darwin and Ronald. George was a jack of all trades and a master of all! He worked at Utah State University as Building Maintenance Supervisor and also farmed, where his mastery of skills in all trades became so very important. George was instrumental in developing a Sunday School Library in the Smithfield Third Ward, which General Sunday School Board Members came to investigate and later used as a Library Pilot Program throughout the church. This was the beginning of the Library Program in the church Sunday Schools. He also served in many Stake callings including Young men leader and dance Director. Together with his wife, Alice, they served as the Dance Directors on a Stake, District and Regional level for over 20 years, literally teaching thousands of youth and adults the art of dancing. They served in this capacity until the church discontinued the dance program. He was an Officiator in the Logan Temple for 15 ½ years. George received the Certificate of Merit along with the love of his life, Alice, for their service to Smithfield and surrounding areas in teaching the art and appreciation of dance in conjunction with the National Bicentennial Celebration. He is survived by his wife, Alice and three sons: Stanley Irene Weeks, Pleasant View, Utah; Darwin JoAnn Weeks, San Diego, California and Ronald Louise Weeks, Mapleton, Utah.
