Thatcher, UT ? George Udell. Lewis, 95, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family Tuesday, August 7, 2007. He was born July 5, 1912 to John Samuel Lewis and Eva Matilda Abelin in Emery, Utah. He married Phyllis E. Mortensen July 20, 1932 in the Manti LDS Temple. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in various callings including a stake mission in East Carbon, Utah. He was a rancher and farmer in Emery and Sevier Counties, coal miner in Emery and Carbon Counties and he was a member of UMWA.
He loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially the Lewis Reunion.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; one daughter, Eunice Mack Luke; three sons: Donald Jonda, Ted, and Kimball Myrna; 25 grandchildren, 72 great grandchildren and nine great, great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, three brothers, a son and daughter-in-law, George Norris and Barbara, three grandsons and one great grandson.

A viewing will be held from 9:00?10:40 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the Thatcher-Penrose LDS Ward Chapel, 11475 West 10400 North, Thatcher followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. with Bishop Dallen Craven officiating.
Interment at Cliff View Cemetery, Price, Utah.
