George Ernest Jaggi, 85, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Sunshine Terrace. He was born August 8, 1924 in Logan, Utah to Gottfried and Lena Stettler Jaggi. He was raised in Logan, attending the local schools and graduating from Logan High School. He has been a life-long resident of Logan with a short time spent in Salt Lake City. He joined the Army Air Corps, serving in England from 1943 to 1945 as an airplane mechanic. He married Jean LaRue Johnson on March 27, 1946 in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they raised a family of three sons, Wayne, Lynn and Scott. George was the Parts Manager for Wilson Motor Company for 44 years. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and especially spending time with his family. He loved the elderly and disadvantaged, always making time to visit the area nursing homes. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. George is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has served in many callings throughout the years, but will most be remembered as a bishop, branch president and a temple worker. He is survived by his sons: Wayne Michelle; Lynn ; Scott Lael; 13 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters: Alice and Ann. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean; brothers: Walter and Stanley; and a sister, LaRene. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Logan 29th Ward Chapel, 792 North 500 East, Logan. Friends and family may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and Friday at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. prior to services.
