Gary Richard Stacey

April 23, 1936 — September 29, 2005

Honeyville - Gary Richard Stacey our dear father, grandfather, husband, and friend, slipped quietly into eternity on Thursday, September 29th 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gary was born on April 23, 1936, to Christina May Cox and Fredrick Stacey. He grew up on a ranch in Woodruff, Utah and was the 6th of 7 children. In his youth, Gary was an excellent and popular student. He served as President of his Seminary Class and was later elected President of his Senior Class while receiving civic awards for outstanding academics. Gary was also active in athletics and played on the school basketball and baseball teams. He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and has served in many positions in the church through out his life. He served a mission to Australia in 1956, and many other Church callings since then. Some of these callings include positions in various Elders Quorum Presidencies, Bishoprics, High Councils, and High Priest Group Leadership. However, it has always seemed that his favorite position is to work with youth. He served as a Scout Master and Advisors to many Aaronic Priesthood Quorums. He dearly loves Scouting and has positively influenced the lives of countless young men. Most of all Gary loves his family. He was sealed to his sweetheart Barbara Bingham on March 24, 1959. She has always been the light in his eyes. Together they have built a wonderful family in Honeyville Utah, consisting of Susan Russ Smith, Micheal Janae, David Andrea, Richard Emily, Melanie, Robert Diane, Scot Diana, Curtis Tristan, Steven Katie Stacey. They also have 19 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and one that Grandpa will get to hold for a couple months before he or she comes to live with mom and dad. Gary has always been proud of his family and looks for opportunities to brag about the smallest thing. Gary has been preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Edmond and Wayne. He is survived in this life by his wife and children and grandchildren. He also is survived by three brothers and one sister, William, James, Glen, and Ruth. He also dearly loves his ?little puppy? Shotsie. Gary is an inspiring example to his family and friends and we miss him dearly.
