Gary married Miles Kowallis Flake January 30, 1970. Miles passed away December 11, 2014. They have two sons, Keith (Karla) West Valley City, Utah, and Lee (Ha-Jung) Nagasaki, Japan. There are eight grandchildren who will dearly miss Grandma. They are Kindi, Kayle, Keian, Kyson, Konor, Seya, Eugene, and Jina.
Gary will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She cherished all of the friendships she had. She loved the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and the opportunity to teach the lessons in her camp. She had a deep interest for history, especially her own family history. She always looked on the bright side of life; even as she battled cancer. She loved her chemo group and the abundant positive attitude present during each treatment.
Gary and Miles enjoyed traveling, camping, and seeing the world around them. A typical trip around the block included a drive up Logan Canyon to Montpelier; and then on to Preston before returning home. Their favorite camping area was Monte Cristo.
