Washington Terrace: Gale Boykin Monsen, 77, of Washington Terrace, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 20, 2004. He was born April 5, 1927, to John Ferris and Eunice Campbell Monsen in Logan, UT. On June 29, 1950, he married his sweetheart, Doris Allen, in Ogden. This marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Gale was raised in Corinne, UT, and graduated from Box Elder High School. An active member of the LDS Church, he has held many callings throughout his life. He was a fire fighter at Hill Air Force Base for 35 years. He loved camping, fishing, hunting, and gardening. He spent several summers as camp host at Lonesomehurst Campground, Hebgen Lake, MT. Gale has left a loving family legacy including his wife, Doris of Washington Terrace; children Scott Dana Monsen, Washington Terrace, Debbie Gordon Eckersley, Layton, and Shelley Monsen, Layton; 9 grandchildren, Shari, Amy, Jill, Justin, Michael, David, Ashlee, Chelsea, Tyson; 6 great grandchildren; brother Steven Monsen, Brigham City. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Wade. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Lindquist Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden. Friends and family may call Wednesday evening at the mortuary from 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday morning prior to services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Online condolences may be extended at
