Tremonton, UT – Fred William Hansen, 97, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away Sunday, May 25, 2008 in South Jordan, UT. He was born November 4, 1910 in Bear River City to Frederick and Bertha Johnsen Hansen. He married Virginia Anderson May 2, 1940, in the St. George LDS Temple. Their marriage was blessed with four daughters: Janiele, Leila, Connie and Beverlee. Fred was always supportive of his girls. He looked forward to their visits and phone calls and was always there with a listening ear and understanding heart.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holding various callings including Evans Branch President and home teacher for 60 years.
He loved farming, reading, visiting, going for rides and looking at the countryside.
He is survived by his daughters: Janiele Jesse Cardon, Sandy, Leila Talavera, West Jordan, Connie Paul Cox, Manti and Beverlee Stephen LeCheminant, West Valley; twelve grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Lily Hansen, Tremonton and sister, Norma Frank Hall, Huntington, UT.
He is preceded in death by an infant son, Bert Hansen; three sisters and two brothers: Thelma Amos Iverson, Aleen Moroni Ward, Mae Vess Roundy, Marvin Bessie Hansen, Harry Irene Hansen and two half-sisters: Edele Archie McNiel and Veva John Ivan Johnson.
Funeral service swill be held Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Tremonton 3rd Ward LDS Chapel, 9590 North 6800 West, Tremonton. A viewing will be held Saturday only from 9:00-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment at the Bear River City Cemetery.
