Bamy Lenk passed away on May 30, 2007 at Cache Valley Assisted Care Facility, where she has been living for the last 10 months. Born Frances Melba Davenport in Augusta, Ga. October 8, 1923, Bamy was raised in Huntsville, Alabama. Bamy served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII and was proud to be an American and play a small part in the defense of her country. She was stationed in El Centro, CA and other Marine Corps facilities in Southern CA. She had a career spanning two decades at the Henrietta Egleston Children?s Hospital in Atlanta, GA where she was the Supervisor of the Switch Board crew and she often said that she could find any doctor any time of the day or night if an emergency situation arose. She retired and moved to Hyrum in 1997 to be closer to family. She is survived by her three children: John Pratchios of Melbourne, FL; Miste Newport of Hyrum; and Bill Lenk of Hartstown, PA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren: Marc Jackson, Heather Thompson, Ted Pratchios, Tom Pratchios, April Cowley, Tara Kraft, Jonathan Pratchios, Angelyn Gay, Abby Pratchios, Billy Lenk, Ricky Lenk, Ashley Newport and Dylan Tyhais.
