Ogden/Garland - Our loving Mother, Grandmother and Sister, Florence Bowcutt Hess Spencer, 85, passed away at Emeritus Estates in Ogden, on Wednesday, May 19, 2004. She was born on June 15, 1918, the daughter of George Alvin Bowcutt, Sr. and Margaret Pearl Newman. She married Gerald Robert Hess on April 1, 1940 in Brigham City, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized May 18, 1951 in the Logan Temple. Gerald passed away on August 17, 1977. She married Clain Spencer on April 28, 1990 in the Logan Temple.
Florence lived in Riverside and Garland spending the last 14 years in Washington Terrace and North Ogden.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. She is survived by her husband, Clain of Ogden, five children, Robert Dixie Hess, Karen Harold Luckey of Tremonton and Gary Susan Hess of Plymouth, Shirley Dolfo Baltizar of North Ogden and Gloria Bill Stone of Washington Terrace, two sisters; Cora Hales of Logan and Anne Wagstaff of Salt Lake; one brother, Henry Dalene Bowcutt of Salt Lake, nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, five stepchildren and their spouses, numerous step-grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Gerald, son; Dee, brothers; George Alvin Bowcutt Jr., Clifford Bowcutt, Blaine Bowcutt; sisters; Vera Butler, Elaine Scothern, Josephine Swenson and Grace Bowcutt.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton Fourth Ward LDS Chapel located at 660 North 300 East, Tremonton. Friends and family may call on Sunday, May 23, 2004 from 5-7 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services.
Interment will be at the Honeyville Cemetery.
