Tremonton, UT - Florence Richards, 76, passed away Saturday, February 9, 2008 at the Bear River Valley Care Center. She was born March 28, 1931 in Fielding, UT to Elmer Thomas and Mildred Elizabeth Johnson Richards. She was a graduate of Bear River High School and received a BS in Elementary Education and Child Development from Utah State University. She taught 1st grade for 26 years 1965-1991 in the Davis County School District.
Florence was active in Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She volunteered at Garland Elementary. She loved gardening, cats, was a Utah JAZZ fan and enjoyed watching her nieces and nephews sports activities.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving as a Primary teacher, ward choir member and 15 years of name extraction.
Surviving are her brothers, E. Lamont Colleen and Dennis L. Judy Richards.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Eleanor Munns and Mary Beth Rees.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2008 11:00 a.m. at the Garland Tabernacle, 140 West Factory St., Garland with Bishop Paul Beus officiating. Friends and family may call Wednesday, February 13, 2008 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment at Fielding Cemetery.
The family suggests donations be made to the Perpetual Education Fund for the LDS Church.
