Ferrell G. Wood

November 8, 1910 — September 27, 2004

Garland - Ferrell G. Wood, our loving father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend moved to his heavenly home on Monday, September 27, 2004, at the age of 93. Born November 8, 1910 in Garland, UT, the son of Charles William Wood and Hannah Claire Leavitt. He married Edna Boss on March 8, 1933 in the Logan Temple. They were married over 70 years before Edna passed away in November 2003. He was reared and educated in Box Elder County. He was an outdoorsman - loved fishing, hunting and camping with his family. He was a great horseman - breaking and training horses for the Jordan Dairy Farm. He won many awards in the Utah State and Salt Lake County fairs in horse pulling competition. He farmed, worked at the Defense Depot in Ogden and retired from Hill Air Force Base after 26 ½ years. He loved to work and had a strong work ethic. He was a member of the National Guard and Lions Club and served four years as a Garland City Councilman. He served faithfully in many LDS church callings as well as the Logan Temple and Bear River Valley Care Center. Survived by children: Connie Boyd Terry, Bountiful; daughter-in-law Donna Wood, Bennion; Roy JoAnne Wood, Garland; Mary Charles Mason, Ontario, CA; Linda Boyd Boman, Lewiston; 23 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren; brothers: Clyde Beth Wood, Cheyenne, WY; LaMar Donna Wood, Ogden and sister Clara Davis, Logan. Preceded in death by parents, brothers: Charles, Theron and Reed; and son Neal. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garland Stake Center located at 140 West Factory Street, Garland. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, October 1, 2004, at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and also on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Garland Cemetery.
