Fern Sibbett passed away April 2, 2007 at the Logan Regional Hospital. She was born August 22, 1917 in Providence, Utah, the daughter of Alma and Melva Leonhardt. She grew up in Providence with a family of five brothers and two sisters. At the death of her mother, she accepted the responsibility of the home and family. On February 5, 1938, she married Leland Jones. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. During their marriage, three daughters were born, Karren, Utahna, and Pauline. Never one to shirk work, she was always at Leland?s side on the farm. A tragic accident took Leland?s mobility in 1952. During the next three years, she cared for Leland with deep devotion until his death. With Leland?s encouragement, she took classes in floral design, and later opened her own floral shop specializing in weddings. Fern had a talent for keeping meticulous records. She particularly enjoyed her calling as primary secretary, taking great pride in the accuracy of her work. She later compiled a news clipping history of Providence residents. After Leland?s death, she devoted her life to home and family. In 1959, she married Dail Sibbett starting a new life in Burley, Idaho. She and Dail combined families by adding Dail?s daughters, Ann and Jean. After 23 years in Idaho, Fern and Dail returned to her beloved Cache Valley. She enjoyed visits from many friends and family members. She was always interested in others and a good listener. Fern is survived by daughters: Karren Frank Fullmer; Ann RJ Evans; Utahna Gary Nielson; Jean Joe Huffman; Pauline Wayne Weiner; 15 grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers: Willis Geneive Leonhardt; Merlin Rita Leonhardt; and Alma Pam Leonhardt; sisters: LaRae Don Godfrey; and Melva Daren Reese. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan.
