Garland, UT – Faye Wood Thompson, 87, passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at the Bear River Valley Care Center. She was born November 13, 1920 in McCammon, ID to Horace Vern and Abbie Udy Wood. She married Vernon Thompson November 19, 1940 in Logan. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple, February 23, 1944. He passed away January 23, 1994.
Faye was an exceptional woman with endless talents and spent her life in the service of others. She was a constant loving force in the lives of her husband, children and grandchildren, and all who knew her. She was a devout member of the LDS Church, and held numerous positions in the church and civic organizations—too many to count! She had an extra-special relationship with her mutual girls, who held an annual reunion with her for the past 50 years. She was very skilled in the art of crochet. She did all this and attended every scouting event, ball game and swim meet of her three beloved sons. Her most precious role was being the wife for 54 years of her sweetheart, Vernon. She was a cherished mother and grandmother.
Surviving are her three sons: Neal Carol Thompson, Pinetop, AZ, Ron Judy Thompson, South Ogden, Tim Lori Thompson, Garland; one brother, Hal Wood, Garland; 17 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and two great, great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. in the Garland LDS Tabernacle, 140 West Factory Street, Garland. Friends and family may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, February 22, 2008 at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Saturday from 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the church. Interment at the Garland Cemetery.
