Faye Farnsworth McMurdie, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep December 10, 2003 at her home.
Faye was the fifth child born to Leo Ezra Farnsworth and Ruby Lovina Richards while they were homesteading in Holbrook, Idaho, on April 12, 1917. In 1919, the family moved to Fielding, Utah where she grew up and attended school. She graduated with honors from Bear River High School in 1935.
She married Clifford Harten McMurdie, July 5, 1946. On March 1, 1951, they were sealed in the Logan Temple. Clifford passed away in June 1991. They were blessed with five children. Jeri Robbins RonDell, Harry McMurdie Shira, Kent McMurdie Patty, Tina Chapple Joel, Sam McMurdie Denise. She has 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Sid Farnsworth, and two grandsons, Zackary and Nate McMurdie.
She is survived by five sisters, Cleo Wood, Irene Wood, Carmen Boss, Maxine Gardner and Doris Christensen.
Faye's entire life has been filled with service to her family, church, and community. She received the Utah State and the Box Elder County Farm Bureau Distinguished Service Awards. At the Box Elder County Fair, she served many years in the exhibits and community booths besides cooking at the Farm Bureau Stand every year. She served in the Tremonton Woman's Civic Club, and also the local and county PTA's. She received the Golden Gleaner Award for her service to the youth and served as President of the Primary, Mutual, and Ward and Stake Relief Society. She also served as a teacher in each of these auxiliaries.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 15, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton 2nd and 5th Ward Chapel, located at 300 South Tremont St., Tremonton. Viewings will be held Sunday, December 14th, 2003 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and Monday, December 15, 2003 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at 300 South Tremont St., Tremonton.
Interment will be at Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
