Evelyn Merrill Eppich

March 31, 1921 — December 6, 2014

Evelyn Merrill Eppich, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 6th, 2014 in Bountiful, Utah. She was our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She was born in Hyde Park Utah to George Osborn and Lois Ashcroft Merrill on the 31st of March 1921. She married her sweetheart, Irel Eppich, on the 29th of July, 1942 in the Logan LDS temple. They were married for 69 wonderful years. She was a long time resident of Cache Valley where she reared her family. She was an active member of the LDS church and spent her entire life loving and serving her family and many friends. She had a firm testimony of the gospel and of our Savior Jesus Christ. Evelyn was an accomplished seamstress and created beautiful quilts and items of clothing for her family. She also loved to camp and fish with her husband and children. She enjoyed gardening and preserving the food that she grew. But mostly she loved spending time with her loved ones and neighbors. They all enjoyed her wonderful sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by so many. She is survived by her four daughters and one son: Georgann Lothair Thompson, Pamela Gary Kidd, LaDawn Jean Woods, Gaylene Lynn Smith, and Scott Elaine Eppich. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. Viewing services will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 12th at the Nelson Funeral Home in Smithfield, Utah. There will also be a viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the LDS church building located at 179 North 100 East in Smithfield on Saturday, December 13th. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Smithfield Cemetery. Our family would like to thank the staff and residents of Barton Creek for the compassionate care and love shown to our mother. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
