Evelyn Smith Dahle

Evelyn Smith Dahle passed away peacefully on February 19, 2002. She was born November 5, 1914 in Garfield, Utah to John Wesley Smith and Madge Blanton. Her early childhood was spent in Idaho and Texas. The family then moved to Utah in 1924 where she lived for the remainder of her life. Evelyn married Carl Jensen Jacobson on February 7, 1931. They had three daughters ? Gladys, Joyce and Nancy. They were later divorced. She then married Delos Izatt Dahle on August 17, 1950 in Twin Falls, Idaho. They had one daughter and two sons ? Debra, Delos, and Evan. Her husband Delos died August 12, 1969. Evelyn received her education in Texas and Utah. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She was employed at Utah State University Carousel Square food services for 16 years. Upon her retirement in 1985, she received a letter of recognition from USU signed by Stanford Cazier, for her outstanding performance, dedication and years of service. Evelyn enjoyed her family and loved her flower gardens. Mom and Grandma, we love you, and will miss you. She is survived by four daughters and two sons; Gladys J. Baker of Logan, Utah; Joyce and Shelley Munns of Honeyville, Utah; Nancy and Paul Bodrero of Logan, Utah; Debra and Graylyn Garr of Olathe, Kansas; Delos and Virginia Dahle of Salt Lake City, Utah and Evan and Manny Dahle of Logan, Utah; 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren also survive her. Her parents, her husband, one son-in-law and two grandchildren preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Family and friends will meet from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services.
