Evelyn Alice Pierce Merrill

Evelyn Pierce Merrill was reunited with her Husband Virgil T. Merrill on Friday September 7, 2007 after being apart for 9 years. She passed peacefully of natural causes surrounded by her family. Evelyn was born September 12, 1935 in Wellington, Utah to Willard and Rosie Blackburn Pierce. She married Virgil on July 11, 1950. They lived in Trenton, Utah for their entire married lives where they raised their 5 children. Vickie Spillett, Trenton, Theon Nancy Merrill, Preston Idaho, Craig Kathy Merrill, Trenton, Danny Merrill {Lisa}, Pocatello Idaho and Jason Tera Merrill, Trenton. She was also blessed with 23 Grandchildren and 33 Great Grandchildren. Evelyn was proud of her siblings and enjoyed spending time with them when she could. She had 13 siblings and is survived by her brothers Perry, Jim, Oscar, Ralph, Fred and Clyde and 2 sisters Lola Spackman and Faye Sykes. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, brothers? Lewis, Dan, Scott and Ted, a sister Della Mooney and a Great Granddaughter Brittney Noble. Evelyn was a member of the LDS Church and was sealed posthumously to her Husband in the Logan LDS Temple on March 12, 1999. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Sister. Her hobbies included cooking and canning for her family, crocheting, quilting, embroidering and camping. She will be greatly loved and sorely missed by her friends and family. A viewing will be held on Tuesday September 11 from 6 until 8pm at Nelson Funeral Home located at 85 South Main in Smithfield. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday September 12, in the Trenton Ward chapel located at 1200 North 400 West in Trenton starting at Noon. Friends and family may attend a viewing to be held that morning from 10:30 until 11:30. The Family would like to thank the Staff of Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation as well as the kind folks at Access Hospice. We would like to express a special thank you and deep appreciation to Thelma Roley and Brittney Francis of Access for all of the love that was shown and the care that was given to our Mother in her last days.
