To Our Beloved Evelia Jacqueline Leavey: A beautiful daughter, sister, aunt and mother who wanted nothing more in life but to see other people laugh and smile. The love that was carried through her was felt by every soul she touched. She enjoyed cooking for her loved ones and sharing most of her time with her children. Jackie fulfilled her rightful place as an angel on July 11, 2009. Evelia Jacqueline Leavey, 43, was taken from us prematurely, along with her two children, in an unexpected disaster. She was born February 7, 1966 in Santa Ana, El Salvador to Antonio Ortiz and Reina G. Rivera. She attended Jr. High and High School in Glendale, California. Over the past several years she has lived in Ogden, Utah; Wendover, Utah; Pasadena, Texas and Logan, Utah. Jackie loved to make others laugh. She enjoyed watching television and solving crossword puzzles. She had worked as a sales representative at Dillards. She is survived by her parents, Reina Rivera and Antonio Ortiz and a sister, Rosa M. Rivera and a host of relatives. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Rufino and Josefina Pimentel. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 725 South 250 East, Hyde Park, Utah with Father Sandoval officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the church prior to services Tuesday and Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan with the Vigil at 7:00 p.m. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
