Plymouth, UT – Evan Morse Hess, 84, passed away 6 March 2008 in West Valley City, UT. He was born 31 October 1922 in Tremonton, UT, the son of Franklin Wallace and Alice Morse Hess.
He grew up in Fielding, UT where he attended grade school. He graduated from Bear River High School. He was part owner of the Bear River Farm Supply.
He spent all of his life farming. He really enjoyed playing and singing with the Utah Old Time Fiddlers. He was an active member of the LDS church and held many callings. Serving in the Nursery was his favorite.
He is survived by six children: Catherine David Olson, Midvale; Curtis Sue Hess, Maumee, OH; Gwen Alice Darnell Godfrey, Sheridan, MT; Ellen Kurt Lehwalder, Salt Lake City; Steven J. Hess, Brigham City; Roger Kathy Hess, Nephi; brother, LeMoyne Sara Hess, Roy and sisters: Bonnie Godfrey, Fielding and Marlene Arvid Anderson, Kearns. He has 24 grandchildren, 44 ¾ great-grandchildren and one great, great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years and grandchildren: Judy Godfrey, Lee Olson, Dominique Hess, Jessica Lehwalder and Michael Lehwalder.
Viewing will be Friday, 14 March 2008 from 7:00–9:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, 15 March 2008 at the Belmont 1st Ward, 16925 North 5200 West, West Fielding with a viewing one hour prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Plymouth Cemetery.
