Clarkstson, Utah: Eulala Godfrey Simper, 94 passed away on March 10, 2013 in Logan, Utah. Eulala was born July 10, 1918 in Clarkston, Utah to Elwen Henry and Vivien Eulala Larsen Godfrey and was the eldest of nine children. She received her grade school education in Clarkston and her high school education in Richmond, Utah. Eulala married John Reuben Simper September 22, 1939 in Malad City, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on May 2, 1955. They lived in Weston & Newton before moving to Thomas, Idaho an area West of Blackfoot, Idaho. She lived there until she moved to Moreland. She moved back to her old childhood home in Clarkston. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. While in Moreland she worked in the Records Extraction Program for six years and served as Ward Librarian. She held various church positions. Eulala worked at I.N.E.L. site in Arco, Idaho as a baker and custodian for many years. Sometimes she made 75 pies a day. Eulala was a woman of many talents. She loved to crochet, knit, sew and did some tatting. She also read often, raised a garden yearly and canned everything. She and her husband would take their two boys fishing a lot. She was preceded in death by her husband, John who passed away September 25, 1957, her parents and siblings, Leon, Wanda, Darrell, Joyce, Vivien and Ed. Also a granddaughter-in-law, Stacy Simper. Survivors include her sons, Ervin Joyce Simper of Arimo, Idaho and Dee LaVon Simper of Garibaldi, Oregon; grandchildren include, Suzette Bryan Sessions, Travis Toni Simper, Julie Vance Vallace, Jack Vicki Simper, John April Simper and Don Michelle Simper. Twenty-two great grandchildren and three step grandchildren. She also has two surviving sisters, Glenna Lamb, Hyde Park, Utah and LuDeen Jacobson, Preston, Idaho and two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Godfrey and Cleo Fleming. Many nieces and nephews also survive her. We appreciate and thank the many special people who lovingly cared for our Mom in the Legacy House in Logan for the last 2 ½ years. We also want to thank Hospice & Access Home Care for their help. We love you and will miss you. Funeral services will held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 10:00 AM in the Clarkston 2nd Ward Chapel, 25 East 100 South. A viewing will be held for family and friends on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main Street, Smithfield and at the Church in Clarkston prior to the services on Thursday from 8:30-9:30 AM. Interment will be in the Riverside-Thomas Idaho Cemetery west of Blackfoot approx 3:00 PM. Condolences may be shared with the family on line at http://www.nelsonfuneralhome.com
