Richmond ? Ethel May Shinkle Mangum, 78, peacefully passed away at her home on Sunday, July 20, 2003. She was born July 9, 1925 in Kelly, Wyoming to Ray and Mabel Woodward Shinkle. She spent her growing years in Kelly, attending the local schools. She married Ivan C. Mangum in Jackson, Wyoming and the marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. They moved to Brigham City, Utah and raised their family of four sons and one daughter. She later moved to Richmond, where she resided for the past twenty years. Ivan passed away November 9, 1995. May was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by her children: Michael Lynne, Richmond; Rodney, Richmond; Larry Patricia, Plain City; Jill Ken Thomas, Layton; Thomas Lisa, Providence; 22 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers: Keith and Vern Shinkle; and two sisters: Hazel James and Joan Hatfield. Her parents, her husband and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2003 at the Richmond Stake Center, 135 West Main. Friends and family may call on Tuesday evening, July 22, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and on Wednesday morning from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the church prior to services.
