Ethel Elizabeth Atkinson Fine Payson/East Garland ? Ethel Elizabeth Atkinson Fine, 92, passed away February 12, 2002, at the Hales Rest Home in Spanish Fork. She was born May 8, 1909, in Clarkston, Utah, the daughter of Joseph LeRoy and Mary Barbara Godfrey Atkinson. She married Golden F. Fine, April 18, 1935, in Berkeley, CA. He died November 13, 1980. She had lived in Clarkston, East Garland, Salt Lake City, and Logan, UT; Berkeley, San Francisco, and Yuba City, CA. She lived in Payson with her sister Helen Cowan for the past ten years. She attended schools in East Garland and graduated from Bear River High School in Tremonton and Business College in Salt Lake City. She worked for Utah State University in Logan and the Federal Land Bank in Salt Lake City. In Berkeley she worked in a Federal Government office where she managed 100 employees. In 1942 they moved to Yuba City where they had peach, walnut and almond orchards. She and Goldie loved traveling the world together. She was renowned for her beautiful gardens and wonderful cooking. She opened her home to friends and family and loved entertaining them. She was active in many civic and charitable organizations. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many teaching and leadership positions. More recently she worked in the Genealogy Extraction program. She is survived by her sisters, Helen Cowan, Payson; Luella Pierson, East Garland; and several nieces and nephews who love her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Goldie; sisters, Zelda Adams, Louise Watt, Dora Johnson, Rhea Atkinson and Naomi Atkinson infant; brothers, LeRoy and Chester Atkinson. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 18, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Fielding Stake Center, 4375 West 15600 North, with Bishop Mike Anderson officiating. Friends may call Monday, February 18th from 9:30 ? 10:40 a.m. at the Fielding Stake Center. Interment will be in the East Garland Cemetery.
