Ogden, UT – Ernest Arthur Ruggerio passed away July 11, 2008 in Tremonton, UT. He was born April 20, 1919 the son of Frank and Rose Ferraro Ruggerio. He was reared and educated in Kansas. He married Doris J. Woodward of Tremonton, UT February 4, 1941. They were later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple. Doris passed away April 23, 2002 after 61 years of marriage. Ernie was a member of the Pleasant Valley Third Ward in the Ogden Utah Pleasant Valley Stake. He was employed by the Federal Government as a Senior Executive in the Defense Logistic Agency Washington DC and retired in 1978 with 37 years of service. He traveled extensively in his position throughout the United States and the world. Ernie received many high level awards and decorations through his many years of employment. After retirement he worked part time as a Salesman at Buehler Dunn and Branz, a men's clothing store in Ogden. Ernie served in the Army during WWII and retired as a major after 20 years of active and reserve duty service. He was a life-time member of the Retired Officers assn. and passed member of Hill AFB and DDOU Officers Club. He was also a member of the ELKS, Eagles, and Ben Lomond Golf Assn. He was an avid golfer having made four holes in one during his career. He enjoyed his many golfing friends. He also loved fishing with his nephews in Idaho and Montana. Ernie is survived by his seven nieces and four nephews in Utah, Idaho, Kansas and Texas. He was preceded in death by his Wife Doris, parents, three brothers and one sister. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2008 11:00 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East Tremonton, UT, Friends and family may call Monday, July 14, 2008 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday, July 15, 2008 9:30 – 10:45 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Tremonton Riverview Cemetery where full military rights will be accorded.
