Snowville/Brigham City - Erma C. Sorenson, 91, returned to her Heavenly Father on June 21, 2004. She was born on September 15, 1912, in Loa, Utah to Otto Eugene Cloward and Deloris Jameson Cloward. The family moved several times, but Erma settled in Snowville where she met and married Harvey LeRoy Sorenson on August 13, 1928 in the Brigham City Courthouse. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on May 28, 1930. Erma and Harvey had three children.
Erma worked as a cook at the Dilly Ranch, Snowville School, and Molly's Cafe in Snowville. After retiring she moved to Brigham City. Erma enjoyed cooking, crochet and canning.
Erma was active in the Curlew LDS Ward and served in the Relief Society as 1st Counselor, Work Director, Primary and Sunday School Teacher.
Surviving are one daughter Luella David Irwin, Garland, Utah; and one son Leon Rose Sorenson, Arizona; and 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren; one sister Glora Phillips, Modesto, CA; one brother, Dusty Lois Cloward, Yosemite, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
Her husband, nine brothers and sisters, one daughter, one son-in-law and two granddaughters preceded her in death.
The family would like to give a special thanks to all the thoughtful people at Brigham City Nursing and Rehabilitation, and to all the special friends that she had through her long life.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. also at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Brigham City Cemetery.
