Erma Lucille Hansen Rock, 95, died on June 11, 2005 in Ogden, Utah.
Born in Bear River City, Utah on December 11, 1909, to Rasmus Hansen and Christina Hansen. She married Jacob Lee Rock on October 1, 1927 in Brigham City, Utah. The marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple.
She lived in Bear River City and Carmel, California. She was actively involved in the Relief Society and taught primary in the Bear River City Ward. She made the best Oatmeal Cookies from scratch and a delicious Chocolate Butter Cake. Her door was always open. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and Granny. Toward the end of her life she had a hard time walking, but her mind was crystal clear, witty, and everyone enjoyed her sense of humor.
She is survived by her children, Lee DeVere Barbara Rock, Torrance, California and Betty Lou Rock Dean Peterson, Roy, Utah, four Grandchildren, Stanley Rock, Torrance, California; Phillip Rock, Vangie Gardena, California, Don Doris Peterson, Kaysville, Utah; Cheryl Randy Hansen, Dammeron Valley, Utah; ten Great Grandchildren, three Great, Great Grandchildren and numerous neices and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, parents, six brothers, three sisters, and one great grandchild.
We would like to extend a special thank you for the compassionate care given by all the staff who assisted Granny at the Mount Ogden Convalescent Center for the past three months. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, 2005 at 11:00 am at the Bear River 1st Ward Chapel where family and friends may gather from10:00-10:45 am prior to services. A viewing will be from 6-8 pm at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home in Tremonton, Utah on Thursday evening, June 16, 2005.
