Emery Caroline Allen was born December 22, 2015 in Salt Lake City. She was a miracle to our family; we had felt like someone was missing from our family for several years. In her short four months, she never left the hospital, but she touched many lives inside and outside of that building. She was born with a congenital diaphragmatic hernia and after a long struggle recovering from the complications of a CDH and extended hospital stay, it was time for her to return home. She fought so hard for so long and surprised so many that took care of her. She amazed us every day with her smiles and her happy countenance, despite the trials she endured constantly. She loved her nurses, except when they suctioned her. She loved to look at bright toys, play with bells, listen to music, have her mouth clean, listen to stories and look at pictures. She taught us so much in her short life and was an angel in so many ways. She passed away very quickly on April 22, 2016.
She is survived by her big sister, Ali, Mom, and Dad, as well as many other family members and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 30, 2016 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Logan, UT (162 E 400N). The services will begin with a viewing from 9:30-10:30. Funeral will follow at 11:00. Internment will take place at the Logan City Cemetery, 1000 N 1200 E, Logan, UT. Please plan for inclement weather (rain) if attending the internment services.
The family does not expect any monetary donations, but if you feel inclined to contribute thusly, the family would like to use any excess, after funeral expenses, to deliver supplies and gifts to the NICU at Primary Children's hospital. Emery loved color and pleasant smells, flowers would also suit her well. Again, there is no expectation of gifts, just love and remembrance of our precious girl.
