Tremonton ? Myrtle ?Myrt? Sorensen Mortensen, 94, of Tremonton, died Thursday, January 17, 2002 at the Brigham City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Myrtle was born on July 4, 1907 in Hyrum, UT, the daughter of Julius and Caroline Christensen Sorensen. She married Elmer Knud Mortensen on September 22, 1936 in Brigham City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Myrtle was reared and educated in Hyrum, UT. She had a green thumb and a love for gardening; her yard was always lovely. She loved people and never knew a stranger. Myrtle was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and fulfilled many church callings. She is Survived by a son ? Kay Gloria Mortensen of Carlsbad, CA; and a daughter ? Sharon Gary Elliott of Bear River City, UT; 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and one sister, Opal Chugg of Providence, UT. Her husband Elmer, two sisters, three brothers, and four half brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Funeral Services will be held at 11: 00 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2002 at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East ? Tremonton. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Sunday and 9:30 ? 10:45 a.m. Monday at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Bear River City Cemetery.
