Ellen Nelson Webb

August 14, 1928 — May 5, 2007

SMITHFIELD - Ellen Nelson Webb, age 78, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2007 surrounded by her family. Her strength, determination, love of life and family, having such a debilitating disease was a great example to those who watched her endure it. She was born at home on August 14, 1928 in Smithfield, UT to Robert LeRoy and Alice Done Nelson. There were five children, Ruth, Rhonda, Clinton deceased Clare died at birth and Ellen. Ellen married her sweetheart, Kenneth Webb, on December 19, 1947, in the Logan LDS Temple. They shared 57 wonderful years together. She was a life-long resident of Smithfield. She graduated from North Cache High School. She attended Utah State University where she was an active member of the Kappa Delta Sorority. Following Dad?s retirement in 1987, Ken and Ellen served a mission at the Mormon Battalion Visitor?s Center in San Diego, CA. When they returned to Utah, they were called to serve in the Logan LDS Temple presidency. She was active in the church all of her life and held many church callings. Mother loved her Heavenly Father and Savior and always lived her life accordingly. Mom?s passions were needlework many beautiful pieces has been completed and shared with her family, traveling, gardening and spending time with her family. Her family has been her joy and her love. She is survived by their five children; Alan Susan Webb, Smithfield, Clint Connie Webb, Woods Cross, UT. Gary Peggy Webb, Bountiful, UT. Annette Webb, Taylorsville, UT. Kristine John Pepin, North Salt Lake, UT; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters Ruth Irel Meyer, Orem, UT. Rhonda Poole, Logan, UT. sisters-in-law, Evelyn Nelson, Vallejo, CA., Carol Webb, Bountiful, UT. and Geniel Webb, Lewiston, UT. The family would like to thank Access Hospice for their care of Mom. A very special thank you to Thelma for your dedication, love and compassion. Mom thought the world of you and cherished your friendship. Services will be Friday, May 11, 2007, at 12:00 noon Smithfield 8th Ward Chapel, 155 W. 400 N. Smithfield, Bishop Scott Perkes conducting. Friends may call at the Nelson Funeral Home, 85 S. Main, Smithfield Thursday 6-8 p.m. and Friday 10 ? 11:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Smithfield Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com
