Elgo Val Anderson

Val?s life has always been about hard work. His death was no different. He fought hard and complained little while he was ill. After a heroic battle with cancer that started in 1996, he passed away ever so quietly and peacefully at home on November 22, 2007, Thanksgiving Day, surrounded by his family. He was 68. Val was born in College Ward, UT in 1939 to Elgo Hiram and Christena Spence Anderson. He grew up in College Ward and graduated from South Cache High School in 1957. In 1959 he married Utahna Swensen. They had three children, Randy, Melanie, and Troy. They were later divorced. He then married Linda Bloxham in 1967. They had six children, Valene, Billee, Jeremy, Jon, Jay, and Heidi. They were later divorced. He then married Pat Allsop Fenton. He spent many years with his brother Lex, buying and selling hay, farming, ranching, and they owned and operated their own trucking business, the V & L Transport Company. Val had a life long love for ranching, and enjoyed doing this with his family. Val?s ?Pine Box? was custom built by his nephew and wife, Dale and Leslie Swensen. He was preceded in death by his father, Elgo Hiram Anderson. He is survived by his wife, Pat Allsop Fenton of Logan; his mother Christena Spence Anderson of College Ward; two sisters, Carolee Dennis Swensen of Milton, WA, LaDawn Mel Foster of Logan; one brother Lex Penni Anderson of College Ward; his children Randy Anderson of West Valley, UT, Melanie Dean Murphy of Millville, Troy Shelly Anderson of Wellsville, Valene Calvin Burnett of Paradise, Billee Lynn Sessions of Logan, Jeremy Sheri Anderson of College Ward, Jon Lark Anderson of Logan, Jay Tammy Anderson of Logan, Heidi Anderson of Rupert, ID; and the following step children, Wendy Keller of Providence, Mike Fenton of Providence, and Sheri Jeremy Anderson of College Ward, along with 25 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 12:00 noon in the Logan 9th Ward Chapel, 500 North 100 East, Logan. There will be a viewing held Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and Monday prior to services at the church from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
