Elaine Hulse Pitcher

Logan, Utah ? Elaine Hulse Pitcher, 88, passed away quietly January 11, 2007 of natural causes. She was born May 19, 1918 in Lewisville, Idaho to Enoch and Edith Hulse. She spent most of her childhood living in Amalga, Utah. She married Joseph Lorin Pitcher on June 24, 1938. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple, August 12, 2004. She is survived by two daughters and three sons: Lorin Max Mary Pitcher, South Jordan; Vern Marilyn Pitcher, Smithfield; Carol Pitkin, Logan; Stephen Pitcher, Green River, Wyo.; and Debra Reed Petersen, Hyrum. She was preceded in death by her eldest son, Joseph Larry Pitcher and her loving husband, Lorin. She has 35 grandchildren, and 75 great and great-great grandchildren and several other family members that called her Mom and Grandmother. We thank our Heavenly Father for allowing us to share our lives with the most unselfish, kind, gentle and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Throughout her life, she worked at a variety of occupations including: Monty Young Circus, Shupe Williams Candy, Royal Bakery, Woolworths, Defense Depot Children?s Nursery, Marv?s Café, Del Monte, and Lou?s Café. She spent her life raising her children and grandchildren, as well as caring for Lorin and Larry during the later part of their lives. She will be missed and cherished by all. Elaine was very active in the American Legion Auxiliary, holding the office of President. She was also involved in the Fraternal Order of Eagles. She was elected as the Eagles Lodge Mother, as well as State Mother and Auxiliary President. She supported these and several other organizations for more than 50 years. Her favorite pastimes were taking the bus to Wendover, Eaglo, Bunco, Skipbo, playing pool, crafts and spending time at the cabin at Sheep Creek with her family. We will all miss her great sense of humor, her warm and contagious smile, her love of life, family and friends. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Monday, January 15, 2007 at the Smithfield City Cemetery. Friends and family may call Sunday evening at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday morning from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
