Eileen Davis Blackburn passed away June 5, 2005 at the Minidoka Memorial Hospital in Rupert, Idaho. Eileen lived the past 20 plus years in Paul, Idaho, coming from Logan, Utah, her home for over 50 years. She was born March 30, 1920 in Soda Springs, Idaho to Roy and Ellen Davis. She married Garth Blackburn in 1940 in the Logan Temple. She is survived by her children: Cheryl Blackburn, Brent Jean Blackburn, Julie Dave Ahrens; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Merlin Davis. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Eileen loved to read and had a thirst for knowledge. She started the Literary Book Club in Logan in 1943, where women would get together monthly to review books and visit. She was invited by the members to return as president several years ago. She looked forward to getting together with the wonderful women of this club and cherished their friendship. Eileen was a very talented artist. She loved to paint with oils and in her later years, was selling her paintings in the San Francisco Bay area. Eileen was devoted to her family and her beloved husband, who she has joined after being a widow for 53 years. Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 11, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, Utah. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
