Effie May King Taylor

April 5, 1921 — March 20, 2006

Tremonton ? Effie May King Taylor, 84, left this life to join her eternal companion at 9:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2006 at the Pioneer Care Center in Brigham City, UT. She was a daughter of David William King and Orpha Fletcher, born April 5, 1921 in Green River, Emery Co., UT. She married Loren Burgess Bert Taylor July 22, 1937 in Fillmore, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were the parents of nine children.
A member of the LDS Church, she served as a missionary in Petal, MS and then a Family History Mission at the Joseph Smith Memorial Bldg. in Salt Lake City, UT. While on this mission she was a member of the Elijah Choir and sang in the Tabernacle.
A talented seamstress, she made many beautiful quilts and crocheted afghans. As an artist, she painted oil and colored pencil drawings and a mural in her home. She loved to sing and dance and was an avid genealogist. She also taught 4-H.
She is survived by her children: Lorna Housley Larry Mesa, AZ; Jene Housley, Richmond, UT; James Taylor Teddy Richfield, ID; Carma Nicholas Charles Curtis Tremonton, UT; Gloria Clark Alan Elko, NV; Keith Taylor Jeanne Boyd, WI; Bill Taylor Fern Ely, NV; Joseph Taylor Loretta Hinckley, UT; her brothers: Calvin King, Ocala, FL and Vance King, Zephyr Hills, FL; 41 grandchildren, 80 great grandchildren and seven great, great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Darlene; her parents; brothers: David King and Gerald King; and sisters: Mary Quistberg and Irene Thomas.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 25 at the Tremonton Third Ward LDS Church, 9590 North 6800 West, Tremonton, UT. A viewing will be held Friday, March 24 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, UT and also Saturday, March 25 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Delta City Cemetery at 4:00 p.m.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers at the Bear River Valley Hospital, Pioneer Care Center, to her doctors and nurses for the gentle kindnesses you have extended to her and to Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home.
