Edward Jr. Larsen

May 19, 1915 — February 1, 2013

Edward Jr. Larsen passed away February 1, 2013 surrounded by his loving family at Logan Regional Hospital. He is now reunited with his sweetheart Berneice.
Edward J. Larsen was born May 19, 1915 to Edward Peter and Amanda Cecilia Larsen. He was the third child, in a family of 7 children. Lenora, Edna, Edward, Dorothy, Ray, Walt and Betty blessed the Larsen family. Up until his death, Edward and his youngest sister Betty were the only children in this family still living.
Edward was born in Brigham City. His family moved to Cache Valley when he was 6 years old. He received his education at area schools and on January 27, 1936 he was called to serve in the Copenhagen, Denmark mission. He fulfilled an honorable mission and returned in August of 1938.
After his mission, he married his sweetheart Berneice Anderson in the Logan temple on January 2, 1941. To this union 5 children were born. Marie Richards deceased, Joyce Coleman, Karen Anthon, Jeannie Jensen deceased, and Roger Larsen. Ed and Berneice are blessed with 15 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren. Edward's sweet wife Berneice, of 60 years, passed away January 12, 2002.
Edward was a skilled craftsman in his trade as a welder. He traveled to many different states as his talents were in much demand. He is and always has been a hard worker. He could fix just about anything. He was very independent!
Music was always playing in our home. Dad loved to play the violin, piano and organ. We always knew the mood he was in by the tunes that he would play. We loved taking turns having him over for dinner, and he loved telling his great-grandchildren a Danish poem about the fingers on his hand. They would giggle to hear his funny Danish accent!
Dad never looked his age. He would walk on his treadmill 2 times a day and was very careful with his diet. When we would go out and introduce him to people they were amazed when they heard he was only 3 months away from turning 98.
Dad has always been such a good example to us. He loved to read his scriptures and up until his 96th year he went to the temple weekly. He had a very strong testimony and loved the Lord. He is so thankful to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and has enjoyed many different positions in the church throughout his life.
We would like to thank the ER Staff and the Transitional/Hospice unit at Logan Regional Hospital for the professional and tender care they gave to dad.
