Edra Norman Gunnell

March 19, 1920 — October 15, 2008

Edra Norman Gunnell, 88, passed away October 15, 2008 in her Providence home of cancer. She was born in Paradise, Utah on March 19, 1920, the daughter of Edward Obray Norman and Annie Marie Thomas. She attended Paradise Elementary and graduated from Box Elder High School, where she met her husband Louis Junior Gunnell. They married April 16, 1941 in the Logan Temple. Edra was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints having served in various positions of the church. She served with her husband in the North Carolina Mission 1983-1984, and also served with her husband in the Logan Temple where they made many wonderful friends. Survivors include her husband Louis Junior Gunnell; children: Jerry Lana Gunnell, Providence, Utah; Dee Anne Ken Major, Logan, Utah; Janet Boyd Taylor, Providence, Utah; DelRay Rosalie Gunnell, Linden, Utah; Doyle Paula Gunnell, Conroe, Texas; brothers: Gail Norman, Delta, Utah; Paul Norman, Ogden, Utah; a sister Faye Hansen, Brigham City, Utah; twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-eight great grandchildren. Edra was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Merl Norman, John Norman, Farrell Norman, Thomas Odell Norman and sisters: Cleo Norman Dunn, Verda Norman Garfield, Rose Marie Norman, and Karen Norman; granddaughter: Alana Rose Gunnell; and Grandson: Tyler J. Gunnell. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Providence 4th Ward Chapel, 155 North 100 East, Providence, Utah. Friends may call from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening, October 19, 2008 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, Utah and also Monday at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m prior to services. Burial will be in the Paradise Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
