Hyrum, Utah ? Earlene Varner, wife and loving mother, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 20, 2002 surrounded by her family. She was born in Brigham City, Utah on November 2, 1941 to Earl and Leora Thompson. She was one of four children. She married Ken Varner on December 31, 1956, together they had six children. She worked at Logan Hospital in housekeeping for five years. Earlene is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kenneth Varner; her six children: Doug Joann Varner, Chris Melissa Varner, Brenda Roger Spackman, Elton Teresa Varner, Leann John Algee, D.J. Liz Varner, fifteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Leora Thompson, a sister, Rosalee Jerry Riddle, a brother, Larry RaNae Thompson, her mother-in-law, Marge Varner, sister-in-law, Julie Stan Atkinson, two brother-in-laws, Bill Varner and Don Varner and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her dad, Earl Thompson, one sister, Alta Tingey, a step-brother, Kenneth Thompson; her father-in-law, Dorris Varner; two sister-in-laws, Peggy Liberty, Gail Fox and grandparents on both sides of the family. We would like to make a special thanks to Dan, Britney and all the Staff at Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation. Also, Dr. Steven Salisbury, for everything during her last few years of illness. We would also like to thank Bishop Steven Earl, Bishop Kelly Johnson and Ann Morrison for everything they have done for us in our time of need. We want you to know, Mom, Daughter, Sister and Grandmother, we love you very much and we will miss you. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 25, 2002 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends and family may call Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
