Drue Chambers

December 3, 1922 — April 9, 2006

Drue Wilson Archibald Chambers passed away at her home in West Jordan, Utah on April 9, 2006 from complications with Ahlzheimer?s. Drue was born December 3, 1922 in Hyrum, Utah to James Hendry Archibald and Carrie Marie Wilson. She married James Lennis Chambers on February 4, 1942 in the Logan LDS temple. Drue?s life centered around her family. There was nothing more important in her life and nothing that took precedence over them. She continued to help her parents after she married, caring for her Mother and Father as they aged. She continued her care and loving support of her own family. She loved to cook and sew for her daughters. She made dresses, doll clothes, and quilts and tended to ?overdue? at Christmas every year. She served many years in the PTA, supporting her children in their school work and extracurricular activities. She loved to garden and plant flowers in her yard. She loved to try planting new things, but always loved her ?old? peonies and lilacs. She loved to have her grandchildren come and stay for a summer vacation or a weekend sleepover. And enjoyed holding family get-togethers for holidays and special occasions. No one ever left Grandma?s house hungry or without a bag of candy to eat on the ride home. Drue was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served faithfully in the Primary, Relief Society, Church Library and as a food service provider in the Logan LDS temple. Drue is survived by her husband, Lennis; daughters and sons-in-law, Marianne GeorgeMayfield, North Ogden, UT; Paul Olcott, Mesquite, NV; Kathy Keith Karren, Lewiston, UT; Cindy Keith White, Avondale, AZ; Jayne Wayne Shupe, Harrisville, UT; Teresa Chambers, West Jordan, UT; Angela Chambers, West Jordan, UT; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and her sister Cherrol Burnham. Drue was preceded in death by her daughter Susan Olcott, her parents, brothers Ez Archibald, Marion Archibald and sister, Isabelle McNeeley. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at 12:00 p.m. in the Trenton/Cornish LDS Chapel, 1200 North 400 West, Trenton. Friends may call at the Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield, UT for a viewing Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and at the chapel Wednesday morning from 10:30-11:30 a.m..
