Douglas L. Wood

October 19, 1955 — November 14, 2007

Garland, Utah ? Douglas L. Wood, 52, passed away at his home in Garland, Utah Wednesday, November 14, 2007. He was born October 19, 1955 in Tremonton, Utah; a son of Harvey R. and Iris Lee H. Wood of Fielding, Utah.
Though we ache from his loss, we are happy he is now free from his struggles with pain and physical limitations. It?s been 33 years since his swimming accident in Bear Lake that broke his neck and left him a quadriplegic.
We all marveled at his great attitude and the many things he could do. He loved driving his van, fishing at Willard Bay and get togethers with his family and friends.
He was married to Jeneanne Hulce July 24, 1984 in Fielding. The marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple October 19, 1988. They were later divorced. This marriage brought him a family, he never thought he would have.
Surviving are his parents, his ex-wife, his children: Matthew, Christine, Rebecca and Mistee and six grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers: Lloyd Tam Wood, Jeffrey Julie Wood and three sisters: Dixie Lee Wood, Terry Lynn Wood and Cindy W. Jensen, a grandmother Lily Hess and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was welcomed, no doubt, by the joyful tears and laughter of his beloved grandparents: Ross and Cleo Wood and Loyal Hess.
The family would like to thank his doctors and his health care people for their loving and professional care. Also all the many good neighbors and friends who helped him in so many ways.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fielding Stake Center, 4375 West 15600 North, Fielding. A viewing will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton Sunday, November 18, 2007 and Monday prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in the Fielding Cemetery.
