Douglas Porter Larson

Twin Falls, Idaho ? Douglas Porter Larson, former resident of Smithfield, Utah, passed away in his home on Thursday, May 5, 2005. Doug was born on February 7, 1947, in Preston, Idaho, the son of Gene and Fern Larson. Doug graduated from Preston High School in 1965. He also served an LDS mission in the Scotland Edinburgh Mission. Doug also attended and graduated from Utah State University. He was married to Patricia Telford Larson on October 28, 1969. He was recently employed over the last decade at Glanbia Foods in Twin Falls. He served for many years in various capacities for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in multiple bishoprics as well as in a stake presidency. Most recently, he served as a ward mission leader in the Twin Falls 7th Ward. Doug is survived by his wife, Patricia Larson; their children, Ginger Cory Swenson, Kirsten Meek, Brooks Nicole Larson, Amber Neal Anderson, Drew Larson, Fern Larson, Gloria Paul Smith, Craig Larson, Neal Jill Larson, Tina Dave Fryar and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father Gene Larson and first wife Deana Jepson. Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, May 10, at 600 East 120 South, Smithfield. Viewings will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 9, at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and also from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Monday 10, 2005 at 600 East 120 South, Smithfield.
