Dorothy Diana Harris

Dorothy Diana Bessinger Harris Portage: Dorothy Diana Bessinger Harris, of Portage, UT, passed away April 1, 2002, after losing her battle to cancer. She was born November 27, 1941, in Tremonton, UT, the daughter of Henry and Dorothy Bessinger. She graduated from Bear River High School in 1960. After receiving a Bachelors of Science from Utah State University she taught High School English in Long Beach, CA. On July 31, 1967, she married Stephen L. Harris of Portage, UT, in the Logan LDS Temple. She was a member of the Portage Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in many callings. She will be honored as a devoted mother and grandmother. To her family, her life will forever be a memorial of selfless service and sacrifice. She is survived by her husband Stephen L. Harris; children, Greg Carla of Tremonton; Wade Jacque of Amarillo, TX; HollyDavid Peterson of Grand Junction, CO; Heidi Stan Rathbone of Brigham City; Shane Tara of Portage, Cody Erin of Salt Lake City; grandchildren, Travis and Tamra Harris, Whitney, Stephen and Kaylee Harris, Kaden, Austin, Cody, Bryce and Dillon Peterson, Jacob and Trevor Rathbone, Stephen Harris, Emily Harris; her mother Dorothy, stepfather John Bessinger; brothers, Scott Merlin; David Sheryl; sister, Linda Gil Smart; stepbrothers, Sam Susie and Terry. She will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 5, 2002, 11:00 a.m. at the Portage LDS Ward Chapel, 8910 West 25800 North. Friends may call Thursday, April 4th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and Friday April 5th from 9:30 to 10:40 a.m. at the Portage Church.
